Terms of Service
Last updated: September 23, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of AllTalk, a language-learning service with AI conversation tutors available at alltalk.jp, app.alltalk.jp and related pages (the “Service”). The Service is operated by Susurobo in Japan (“AllTalk”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under 18 (or the age of majority where you live), you may use the Service only with the consent of a parent or guardian, who agrees to these Terms on your behalf.
2. Your account
- You can create an account with an email address and password or by signing in with Google. You must give accurate information and keep it up to date.
- You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Tell us promptly at max@alltalk.jp if you suspect unauthorised use.
- Accounts are personal and may not be shared, sold or transferred.
3. The Service and AI tutors
AllTalk lets you practise speaking a language with AI-generated conversation partners, drills and feedback. Responses are generated automatically and may be inaccurate, incomplete, unnatural or occasionally inappropriate. The Service is an educational practice tool: it does not guarantee any particular learning outcome or test result (such as JLPT or Eiken), and it is not a source of professional, legal, medical, immigration or employment advice.
We may add, change or remove features and content at any time. We try to keep the Service available but do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service for anything unlawful, harmful, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit or otherwise abusive;
- try to make the AI tutors produce such content, or to bypass safety measures;
- access the Service by automated means (bots, scrapers) or overload, disrupt or probe its systems;
- reverse engineer, copy, resell or build a competing product from the Service, its content or its outputs, except as allowed by law;
- upload or speak other people’s personal information without their permission;
- impersonate anyone or misrepresent your affiliation with anyone.
5. Your content
“Your content” means what you say or type in the Service, including voice input and the resulting transcripts. You keep any rights you have in your content. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, process, transcribe, store and analyse your content as needed to provide, maintain and improve the Service, as described in our Privacy Policy. This licence ends when your content is deleted, except for anonymised or aggregated data.
6. Our content and intellectual property
The Service, including its software, lessons, characters, 3D environments, audio, design and trademarks, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by law. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for your own non-commercial learning, subject to these Terms.
7. Paid plans, billing and cancellation
- Some features require a paid subscription. Prices, plan contents and billing periods are shown before you purchase and may vary by country. Prices include applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you authorise us (through Stripe) to charge your payment method at the start of each billing period.
- Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep access until then.
- If we offer a free trial, you will be charged when the trial ends unless you cancel before then.
- Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable and we do not provide refunds or credits for partial billing periods or unused features.
- We may change prices with at least 30 days’ notice. The new price applies from your next renewal after the notice period; if you do not agree, you can cancel before it takes effect.
- If a payment fails, we may suspend paid features until it is resolved.
8. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service and ask us to delete your account at any time by emailing max@alltalk.jp. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or if needed to protect the Service or other users. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including 5, 6, 9, 10 and 12) will survive.
9. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose or JPY 10,000. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including liability for our wilful misconduct or gross negligence, or rights you have under Japan’s Consumer Contract Act or other mandatory consumer-protection laws.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and update the “Last updated” date. If the changes are material, we will notify you by email or in the Service at least 14 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after the changes take effect means you accept them.
12. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. The Tokyo District Court has exclusive jurisdiction as the court of first instance over any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service, without prejudice to any mandatory right you have as a consumer to bring proceedings where you live.
13. General
If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets. If these Terms are translated, the English version prevails.
